What Makes Up a Stationary Concrete Batch Plant
A stationary concrete batch plant is large-scale permanent structure ideal for high-volume concrete production projects such as bridges, dams, highways, large industrial, commercial, or residential facilities, hospitals, and more. Each stationary plant’s layout is unique, but it will consist of an aggregate storage bin, aggregate and cement scales, aggregate conveyors, cement storage silos, electrical controls, walkways and platforms, air compressors, and a dust control system. Automated control systems allow for efficient and specific concrete mix ratios by combining precise quantities of aggregate materials, water, and cement mixtures required for the project. Project volume requirements often dictate the production speed, but some stationary batch plants are capable of producing up to 400 YD³ Per Hour.
The batching plant can produce dry batch concrete which is a combination of concrete ingredients and mixed in a truck with water on the way to a project, or wet batch concrete is a combination of concrete ingredients and water into a paving mixer at the site of the batch plant and then discharged into a truck for transport.
