Project Engineer

Primary Focus

Due to tremendous industry growth, The Vince Hagan Company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical support for the manufacturing of concrete batch plants and associated equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Design and preparation of all drawings for ease of manufacture
  2. Design of new features and options for customer orders
  3. New product development and cost reduction
  4. Structural integrity and mechanical fit of product
  5. Product field support and troubleshooting
  6. Technical support for all company departments
  7. Cost reduction of the manufacturing process
  8. Drawing interpretation and conflict resolution
  9. Product testing and inspection

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with AutoCAD
  • Proficient with SolidWorks
  • Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting plans and machining
  • Metal fabrication techniques include welding and
  • Mechanical and structural design principals and calculations
  • Sheet metal design and forming techniques
  • Willingness to travel to support products in the field (up to 10% of time)

Desired Education & Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Three (3) plus years’ experience with concrete plants or related industries
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience in a capital equipment environment
  • Regulatory requirements and practices (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Hydraulic equipment experience
  • Familiar with electrical controls from a functional perspective
  • Structural calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred
  • Frequent vendor contact

The employee occasionally will work outside the facility, encounter uneven or slippery surfaces, or work in wet conditions. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Some work assignment will require employees to frequently push/pull/lift from the floor to the table, and lift from table to shoulder level, up to 45 pounds. Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift below or above shoulder level greater than 45 pounds if they are physically able to do so safely. Employees are encouraged to use caution at all times when pushing/pulling/lifting. Please consider the size, shape, weight of the object to be pushed/pulled/lifted, the path and the distance you must travel along with your own physical ability. If necessary, please seek assistance with pushing/pulling/lifting tasks. Employees should never lift more than they are physically able to handle safely.
